YOUR QUESTION:
"Hi I have a mk4 golf TDI which i want to lower slightly (30mm ish) and generally improve handling. i have been looking at the h and r cup kit, the koni strT and also the bilstein b12 pro kit. Which of these will best suited to my needs? I do a lot of miles 30 k year and am far more interested in the handling than the looks. I am not fussed about it being stiffer but dont want it to be a jaring ride.
Any help/ advice much appreciated.
Cheers Rob"
OUR ANSWER:
"Thanks for your question.
Out of the three kits you've mentioned, the Bilstein B12, H&R Cup and Koni STR.T kit, I'd say the best in terms of handling would be either the Bilstein B12 or the H&R Cup kit. Both of these springs and shocks suspension kits use mono tube dampers and offer really good handling improvements whilst also giving superb ride quality. If I had to pick between the two and my budget allowed I'd go for the Bilstein B12 as I find these a little more forgiving for everyday fast road use."
YOUR QUESTION:
"Hello - been looking at the H&R spring & shock kit for the MK4 Golf Gti (1.8t) - just one question; does this kit truly drop 35mm or is it 25mm versus the stock GTi height? Thank you,"
OUR ANSWER:
"Thank you for your question.
On the GTI model you'll get around a further 20-25mm lowering."
